Mount Hermon’s 105th Summer!

Summer 2010:

We are right on the verge of Mount Hermon’s 105th summer! Redwood Camp’s Staff has arrived and is in training as I write this and the other Staffs are soon to follow. As a lot of you know there are new leaders at Redwood Camp and Ponderosa Lodge.

Chafer Cox is the new person at Redwood Camp and he also oversees the Child Care and Day Camp ministries at the Conference Center. Chafer has a long history at Mount Hermon as a Day Camp leader and Director, and the Head Staff Counselor at the Conference Center. Chafer graduated from Moody Bible Institute Graduate School in Theology and served as a Youth Director at the Evangelical Free Church in Yuba City for several years. Most recently he was a teacher in the Public Schools in Yuba City. His wife Roxanne worked in Day Camp and served as a Staff Counselor at the Conference Center also. They have three children. They met here and now they are coming back to minister.

Charlie Broxton has been on Staff since January and did a lot of the Summer Staff recruitment this year. He will oversee the Junior High, Senior High and College/Young Adult ministry at the Conference Center and the ministry at Ponderosa Lodge. He went to University of California at Davis and Western Seminary in San Jose. He was at Ponderosa Lodge as a Counselor and also served at Twin Lakes Church in Aptos for many years in Youth and Young Adult ministries. He also teaches at William Jessup University. He met his wife Nancy while at Ponderosa Lodge and they have two boys.

We have lots of great programs for children, youth, adults and families. I have provided sample videos from all of our facilities below. I hope it gives you an updated vision of what is taking place!
