A New Tradition, A New Creation at Kidder Creek
Something exciting is happening at Kidder Creek…
By now I’m sure you’ve heard that the Master Site Plan site was approved and we are working hard to increase occupancy and serve every camper God sends our way.
It’s true that the ministry and work of Mount Hermon at each of our sites is reliant on infrastructure. Dining halls, adventure equipment, and meeting spaces. We wouldn’t be able to host the thousands of guests each year that we do if we didn’t have that!
However, God started doing something new last summer at Kidder Creek and it’s happening again this year. After witnessing it this summer with my family, I can say it’s not just an isolated occurrence. God is moving in a special way at Kidder— a way that doesn’t depend on having a building or the right equipment!
Since last summer, Kidder Creek staff have been amazed as campers express a desire to be baptized at camp. A simple baptism at the pond and a heartfelt public declaration that they are a new creation in Christ. This happened over and over last summer and we saw it again in summer 2024! What a gift it is to witness this movement of the Holy Spirit in the lives of campers, and to know that my little boys are seeing campers and counselors model what it is to put faith and trust in Christ.
Andy and the Kidder Creek team are always grateful for the opportunity to minister to the many people who visit camp throughout the year and through all the different avenues of camping ministry that they host, but getting a chance to be present for something as sacred as baptism is nothing short of incredible.
Be encouraged! God is at work.
