From Camper to Counselor: Anjali’s Story
The summer before my senior year of high school, I attended Ranch Camp. It was a very difficult season of my life. I was facing personal challenges and feeling overwhelmed, and that week’s theme, “Hope,” met me exactly where I was.
Although I grew up attending church camps, they often felt like temporary mountaintop experiences that didn’t carry into everyday life. This week was different. I experienced the Lord in a deeply personal way through the beauty of nature, and the people and counselors at camp. For the first time, I felt a genuine desire to know God more and pursue a real relationship with Him.
God had been knocking on my heart for a long time, and that week I finally let Him in. I began reading my Bible for the first time and was transformed by His Word and by Jesus’ gentle correction in my life. A week before starting my freshman year of college, I was baptized.
Since then, I’ve felt a strong calling to return to Kidder Creek and give back to the community that gave me so much. I’m excited to serve on staff this summer and be part of the seeds Jesus is planting in others!
