The safety and health of our guests is of the highest priority. Mount Hermon has been closely monitoring directions from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the California Department of Public Health as well as guidance from our local agencies. In response to the March 16th order from the County of Santa Cruz Health Services Agency for all county residents to shelter in place and cease all nonessential activities, Mount Hermon is canceling all events, programs, and activities from March 17–April 7. This includes the Christian Writers Conference that was scheduled to be held April 3–7.
We are making plans to reschedule everything we were offering this year to 2021—faculty, morning tracks, mentoring clinics, workshops, the works. So if you were looking forward to the 2020 conference, plan now to join us next year!
Main conference March 26–30, 2021
Pre-conference March 24–26, 2021
We are offering a full refund of all conference fees, or you may apply your payments made for the 2020 conference to the 2021 Christian Writers Conference. This would allow you to secure your spot at next year’s conference at this year’s prices. To either cancel or apply your 2020 writers conference payments to next year, use this link:
If you have any questions about refunds or applying your funds to next year’s event, contact director Kathy Ide at Kathy.Ide@MountHermon.org. Please do not try to call the Mount Hermon offices while the shelter-in-place directive is in effect, as staffing is extremely limited.
If you registered for the 2020 writers conference, we hope you’ll visit the Facebook page for 2020 attendees. Faculty and registrants are having fun connecting, sharing writing tips, offering encouragements and prayers. Those who’ve been to a previous Mount Hermon Christian Writers Conference are posting pictures, videos, and memories.
If you would like to connect with other writers, join the Mount Hermon Christian Writers Loop. The writers’ loop is an email group where Christian writers of all genres can support one another, network, and learn from each other. Membership in this group is free, and attendance at a Mount Hermon writers conference is not required. Subscribe here.
We’re already getting pumped up for MHWriters21!
