Director of Program Ministries and Marketing

In September the Advancement Team gained a new member. Andrew Summers has been attending Mount Hermon camps since the age of 8 and has spent the last six summers on staff at both Ponderosa Lodge and the Conference Center. Andrew’s decision to pursue full-time ministry as a career was made after a life-changing encounter with God at Mount Hermon as a high school student.

After graduating from the University of the Pacific with degrees in International Relations, Spanish, and French he moved to the Democratic Republic of Congo

in Africa for two years where he worked with wrongfully imprisoned youth. In 2010 he returned to Mount Hermon, serving a summer as a custodian at Family Camp and then beginning a two year internship as a Guest Services Host at Ponderosa Lodge and as a Program Specialist for Adult and Family Ministries.

Andrew has been a great asset in supporting many changes in programming, especially at family camp, and helped to pioneer the new model for staffing at the conference center as a staff counselor in 2011.  He brings a servant’s heart, a beastly work ethic, and a high standard of excellence to all he does — and he plays a mean piano. We are privileged to have him working with Dave to keep you connected to Mount Hermon and to each other.

Andrew is excited about his new role with the Advancement team which includes connecting with Mount Hermon staff alumni. You’ll be hearing from him regularly through this newsletter, our staff alumni Facebook page, and soon-to-premier webpage. Please join us in welcoming Andrew! (andrew.summers@mounthermon.org)

  • Andrew, Welcome to the A-Team. God directed me to hire J.R. and Kerry a few years ago. You will find them to be a great help as I did. You are going to love advancement work. Dave Neely
